Door slammed shut or locked: what is the difference?
Door slammed shut
The lock is not engaged: only the latch bolt holds the door. Opening is usually simple, quick and completely damage-free.
Locked door
The door is locked with the key, sometimes double-locked. The job requires fine opening techniques and specific tools.
Non-destructive whenever the situation allows
Our priority is to preserve your installation: opening with a shim or bypass technique for slammed doors, fine lock picking for locked doors. We are honest: some high-security locks that are locked shut require controlled drilling of the cylinder. In that case, we tell you before acting and immediately fit a certified replacement cylinder.
When do we step in?
Keys left inside
The door slammed behind you: non-destructive entry in almost every case.
Lost or stolen keys
Opening, then a cylinder replacement is recommended: you do not know who has your keys.
Key broken in the lock
Extraction of the fragment without damaging the cylinder, then a check of the mechanism.
Jammed or seized lock
The mechanism refuses to turn or the cylinder spins without engaging.
Security doors
Our experts know reinforced doors inside out: they also know how to open them cleanly.
All types of premises
Flat, house, shop, office or apartment building, throughout our service areas.

A matter of trust
Opening a door is a sensitive act: our locksmiths systematically check that you really are the occupant of the home (ID, lease, a neighbour’s confirmation). The price is announced and approved by you before the door is opened, and afterwards, if useful, we recommend a lock replacement or a simple check. After lost keys, replacing the cylinder remains strongly advised.
